The Beautiful Exchange

Panama is the first place I have been outside of the United States and it has been such an amazing experience. Coming to Panama I had no idea what to expect, but being able to teach and study dance in another country has been truly amazing. Dance really is its own language. I have been teaching these kids within the orphanages, and even though I am the teacher, I am learning so much from each child. I feel so inspired and lucky to be able to have this opportunity through Movement Exchange. This trip has opened my eyes to so many things and allowed me to truly share my passion of dance in a place I have never been. Coming to a new country has introduced me to a new way of life and a new group of people. I have taken other dance classes that I probably would never have the opportunity to take in the US, such as Passa Passa and Salsa, hiked up to the highest point in the city and seen everything from above, taught University students here, and so much more in between. Every single day, I have had a little taste of Panama, and it has been nothing but wonderful. I cannot wait to go on more adventures on this trip, as well as bringing what I am learning back home with a fresh perspective.
