On November 12th Movement Exchange at UC Irvine set out for our first inter-chapter collaboration with Chapman University. Peer to peer workshop coordinator, Molly Gray, set up a brunch between the two chapters to discuss our love for movement and our goals for outreach in both chapters. Chapman’s club is relatively new but what they lack in experience they make up for with brilliant ideas and enthusiasm! All of their members are extremely driven to serving in the community and abroad. We discussed the possibility of future collaborations which include a mini exchange at the Orange Christmas tree lighting, and partnering up for outreach in the community, teaching classes and hosting workshops together. Because UC Irvine’s chapter has been around longer we are able to offer advice and service opportunities that we are already in the process of participating in. Similarly, Chapman is able to offer us fresh new ideas, another community to serve in, and more club members to share ideas with. We also discussed the idea of doing a joint trip to Panama in order to give the Chapman members an opportunity to experience what we find to be an integral part of the Movement Exchange experience. Chapman’s members are wonderful and we look forward to partnering up in the future to spread the love in our Orange County community!
