Hi! My name is Erin and I’m from George Mason University. This is my first exchange with movement exchange and I am loving it so far. Today is the end of our second full day of teaching and learning here in Panama. We have had the opportunity to visit the Piriati community of the Embera people, where they shared with us traditional dances and taught us about their culture. We also took a Panamanian folkloric dance class and explored the Rio Limon. My favorite part so far has been teaching at the Santa Isabel school in Chepo. The children are so excited to learn and I have already seen improvement in the two short days we have been here. I am so excited to continue to explore Panama and teach dance.
