Year: Senior

Why did you join Movement Exchange?

We started the chapter after our first exchange in Panama in the fall of 2014. We wanted to bring dance to the local community and knew that Movement Exchange would be an amazing organization to inspire at-risk communities around the Orange County area.

How can dance change the world?

I believe dance has the capability of making a positive difference in the world because its another form of communication it extends and transcends beyond language, race, and ability.

What is your favorite thing about Movement Exchange?

The best part about movement exchange is the ability to talk to other like minded people who are service oriented and use their artistic talents to benefit others. Of course my ultimate favorite is building lasting relationships with the people I meet in Panama and friendships at UCI.

What makes the UC Irvine chapter of Movement Exchange unique?

We are unique because we were started by a Graduate Student, Blair Brown and through her thesis we were exposed. We also conduct research every time we go to Panama.
