Why did you join Movement Exchange?

We are passionate about dance and want to harness its power as a catalyst for social change!

How can dance change the world?

Dance teaches discipline, self-expression, and self-love. As young people learn these skills and begin to understand the many facets of movement, they can apply them to other areas of their lives and begin a process of self-transformation.

What is your favorite thing about Movement Exchange?

For us, Move-Ex allows us to use our deep love for dance to give back. We feel incredibly lucky to have received a dance education throughout our youth, and it brings us great joy to bring a similar education to those in need!

What makes the SMU chapter of Movement Exchange unique?

At SMU, our Move-Ex chapter is composed of both dance majors and students in other schools and divisions who are simply passionate about movement and service! This unique mix of students allows us to collaborate and share ideas from different perspectives.
